Debbie Morehead

As a licensed therapist for 18 years, Debbie Morehead has consistently worked with clients in group practice, private practice and in non-profit county agency programs. Prior to becoming a therapist, she was an elementary school teacher. Her clinical experience includes working with children, adolescents, individuals, families and couples. Her specialties are: relationship issues, adolescents, women's issues, parenting, adoptive families, childhood trauma, sexual abuse, victims of crime, depression, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and co-dependency.

Debbie's strengths and expertise come from varied experiences working with some of the most vulnerable clients in Los Angeles County. For 15 years she administered programs and directly worked with the most severely mentally ill youth and their families, who were place in foster care and residential settings, in one of LA County's largest non-profit mental health agencies.

Debbie has extensive knowledge and practice leading workshops on parenting topics. She focuses on understanding the needs and strengths of the individual. She has presented at national conferences, participated in and co-chaired a countywide committee to improve youth practices in the Departments of Probation and Child and Family Services. She is a faculty member at the University of Phoenix, teaching Marriage, Family and Child Counseling. Certified as a clinical supervisor, she has a certificate of proficiency in Trauma Focused - Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Additional clinical practice has included school counseling, group work, and women and relationship issues.
